I have been an ObGyn in Montgomery County since 1981. I have been fortunate to be a leader of organized medicine. I’ve been President of the Montgomery County Medical Society, President of Med Chi, the Maryland State Medical Society, President of the Maryland Obstetrical and Gynecologic Society, Chair of the Maryland Section of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and Co-Chair of the Physicians’ Electronic Health Record Coalition, and a Delegate to the AMA representing Maryland.
I recently received the Patients’ Choice Award from Vitals. Now in it’s 8th year, the Vitals Patients’ Choice award recognizes top-performing doctors based on reviews and ratings collected during the past calendar year.
For the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists I was the Chair of the Practice Management Committee and I have taught courses at the Annual Clinical Meeting of ACOG. I was the Faculty Director for 2 medical education courses at the 2013 ACOG Annual Clinical Meeting: Information Technology: Improving Patient Outcomes and Optimizing Practice Management discusses the use of information technology in the modern ObGyn practice. Social Media in Obstetrics and Gynecology is a new ACOG course that discusses the professional uses of social media and blogs. That course will also be given at the 2014 ACM.
